Our Brother and first Pipe Major C. Scott Doyle was memorialized on Saturday the 21st of November, 2009 at the Saint Francis Church in Potomac, Maryland. The weather was phenomenal and the sound of the great highland bagpipes and drums sounded as family, friends and co-workers gathered to remember this great man; who brought smiles to so many faces throughout his life.

Members of MCFF Pipes and Drums were among over 50 Pipers and Drummers who were present to help play Scott home. The sound of tunes like Highland Cathedral (Scott’s favorite), Amazing Grace and Minstrel Boy were played beautifully during the church service. Scott was given his final march as the joint pipes and drums band paraded up River Road as a tribute from his brothers and sisters.
 
The Celebration of Scott’s Life took place shortly after the service where stories were told and toasts were made honoring Scott. The celebration would not have been complete without the playing of Dropkick Murphy’s and more pipes and drums. It was a commemoration that Scott would be proud of.
 
To the Doyle Family, the “Pipe Band” would like to give our heartfelt thanks for allowing us to be a part of your family. From day one, Scott put his heart and soul in to ensuring the success of this organization and without your support we would be where we are today and we would be doing Scott an injustice if we didn’t play the best we can every time we pick up our instruments. 
 
To the members of the Scott Doyle Memorial Pipes and Drums Band, the send off would not have been what it was without you. We cannot begin to thank you enough for all your support during the past six months and it was nothing less than comforting to know we have your support.
